2 more days!

2 more days (or sooner) until we get to meet baby girl!
I am scheduled to be induced bright and early on Thursday morning- one day after my due date. Boy oh boy, I feel HUGE, uncomfortable, and cranky! I am so ready to hold her in my arms and cannot wait to see who she looks like!
Weston is so excited and asks if we can "go get baby sister" all the time. He is more than ready too.
We just got our first shipment of newborn diapers in the mail last night and Chad and I laughed so hard when we opened them and saw how small they are compared to Weston's diapers! Two in diapers can be a little challenging so maybe by the middle to end of February I should start working on potty training the little man. Hey, we are going to be stuck indoors with a newborn anyway right?!

Big Boy Bed

Wow! Transitioning to the big boy bed is a lot of work! Mommy is pooped... and so is daddy! Mr. Mouse surprised Weston on the first night of trying to make the transition. Unfortunately, it did not work out. Weston cried and I did not want to associate being scared/crying with his new bed.
So I tried again the next day for nap time and it was a success! Mr. Mouse brought Weston a big toy fire engine as a reward.
Game on! It was time to start the big boy bed and not look back! :)
We started a chart and if Weston slept in the big boy bed two nights in a row we could go to the store and pick out an ambulance toy!
From there we made another chart- 3 successful nights= McDonalds Happy Meal. Completed!!
Then last Friday at nap time we had a very VERY rough time getting calmed down for a nap. I was making the mistake of patting his bum to sleep at nap time everyday. I knew it was not the best thing to do because he would have a hard time later going down on his own. Friday I decided to pat his bum 20 times and then leave. Well he continuously got out of his bed and opened the bedroom door. I KEPT walking him back to his bed, cover him up, and left the room. It was not working. After an hour of trying I gave up and we went downstairs to watch a some tv (and I took a quick cat nap). Can you tell I have zero energy? Later I tried again (of course I patted his bum the whole time) and he was out in 10  minutes. Still not successful at all.
The whole weekend I made Chad take over with naptime and bedtime. He listens to daddy so much better. I was terrified for Tuesday to come. I knew Chad would be back at work and it was my turn again. We made another chart- 6 times sleeping in the big boy bed= trip to the train garden.  I told myself that I WAS GOING TO WIN! And I DID! It took 45 minutes of walking him back to the bed (45+ times of his getting out of his bed). He finally gave up and went to sleep (only for about an hour but I will take it) Thank you SuperNanny for help. ;)
Today was our second day and it took 5 minutes!!!! Only 5 minutes and just one time getting out of bed. Thank goodness! So proud of myself. I am telling you, this big boy bed thing is a hard transition for the both of us.

Hallway Remodel- After

A couple of weeks ago we finally finished remodeling the upstairs hallway/laundry closet! Laundry is SO much more enjoyable now that we have a practical closet and a washer and dryer that actually works!
Check out the before pictures: http://sharingourshenanigans.blogspot.com/2012/11/upstairs-hallway-remodel-before.html
And here's the after!!!
Chad tore up the old wood floor, leveled it, and refinished salvaged wood from Second Chance.
He had to make the closet wider so we could fit a full size washer and dryer and then added bi-fold doors. They are amazing! I talked him into adding wainscoting in the hallway. So glad that I did... it looks awesome!
Thanks to Pinterest, I saw a laundry room with a butcher block counter. We purchased a front loading washer and dryer and Chad installed the counter top. It gives me a lot of room for folding laundry. He was able to add a cabinet for the laundry detergents and cleaning supplies to be stored in.
I bought baskets from HomeGoods and glued mini chalkboard labels to them.
View looking into the bathroom and looking out of the bathroom.
We bought a smaller radiator. I am not a huge fan of pipes exposed, but it's on old house so we have no choice. I painted them white to try to camouflage them as much as possible. Chad also made the shelf... another Pinterest find.

{1/52 Evening Rituals} this is our life

I decided to join Paint the Moon's  project 52 photo challenge. I've tried two other photo challenges (Project 365 and a Project 52) but never kept up with them in the years past. I have become more interested in lifestyle photography and thought that this challenge would be perfect especially since I will be home a lot more now that baby girl is almost here!
Check out my photography blog to see the rest of the pictures from our evening ritual.
