Daddy's Cereal

Weston loves everything about his Daddy. He loves his Daddy’s shoes, tools, truck, pretty much anything that Chad touches, and even his cereal. Every morning he asks for Daddy’s cereal for breakfast. Chad eats Honey Bunches of Oats with Pecan Clusters. I do not think I would have ever touched this cereal when I was a kid. Instead I went for Foot Loops, Cocoa Puffs, Apple Jacks, you know all the junk cereal. Well, not this kid. He wants Daddy’s cereal!

20 weeks!

Yesterday morning we had our 20 week sonogram at Franklin Square Hospital. Baby girl is growing strong and everything looks good! I asked the sonogram tech why I am not feeling her ask much as I did with Weston at this point in my pregnancy. She said the reason is because I have an anteria placenta which means the placenta is located in the front of my uterus and the baby is behind it. So there is more cushion between my belly and the baby so it makes it harder for me to feel her move.
Baby girl kept opening and closing her mouth during the sonogram and at some points her hands were up by her face. It was hard to get a good profile picture of her since she kept looking straight at the sonogram wand (or whatever that is called) on my belly. I already love her so much and cannot wait for her to join our little family!

The new blog...

Well my old blog has no memory space left and cheap mama here does not want to pay for more memory. So instead I started a new blog! The problem was that I was loading my HUGE file size photos onto the blog and it just ate up all the memory. I could delete my old posts to give me more space, but I would hate to see it all go especially since I use a lot of my blog posts in my scrapbook each year and I am way behind on digital scrapbooking.
I was contemplating whether or not to continue posting because I am just so super busy, but I really enjoy looking back and reading about all the fun things we were up to. Plus hopefully my family and friends are still keeping up with our shenanigans!?
The past two weeks was an emotional roller coaster for me. Only Friday August 31 after our evening walk, Norma began acting very uncomfortable. She was having a hard time laying down, her breathing was heavy, and she had many unsuccessful attempts to vomit. I had a feeling right away that had bloat. Ever since Pepper was a small pup, I knew to keep a close eye on the symptoms of bloat since it is very common in big dogs. If you ever read or watched the movie Marley and Me you may remember that Marley had bloat. Anyway.... after an hour or so of watching Norma's symptoms continue I knew that Norma needed to get to the emergency vets. I hugged her and kissed her forehead knowing it would be the last time I would see her. Sure enough it was confirmed that she had bloat. There is really not much you can do for animals with bloat. If we would have chosen surgery, there was a very big chance that once they would go in they would find that most of her stomach was dead. The vet also said that her life would never be the same. So it was best for Norma to be put to sleep. It has been SO hard... Norma was the best dog and amazing with Weston. Maybe one day we will get another, but for now we will concentrate on preparing for baby girl.

Then there was a very happy time! My cousin got married two days later and it was such a fun night. My dress fit- thank goodness! We had a blast. We also celebrated Chad's 29th birthday. I started a tradition this year for Chad's birthday. I took Weston to the Dollar Store and told him to find Daddy 5 gifts for his birthday. I did not help him pick out the gifts, but I did remind him that what he picks out is for Daddy. He ended up buying Chad a flashlight, leopard print duct tape, 3 way plug, deodorant, and an ice cream dog toy! I actually think he did a great job! It was funny watching Chad open his gifts from Weston. So cute!
Chad's birthday
This weekend was wonderful. It was so nice to spend time with my boys. Weston decided to wake up earlier than usual (I shouldn't complain... it was about 8am) both mornings so all three of us snuggled in bed together. The weather has been beautiful since yesterday. All the windows are open and I am enjoying the fresh air. I even scrubbed and washed the garage siding this morning while Weston played on his tractors. I cannot stand how siding gets dirty. The flowers in the window boxes on the garage are starting to look a little lifeless so I have been pinning all sorts of pictures for fall inspired window boxes!
What a pretty fall window box! Love the pumpkins in it.
